Come renew your perspective on life! At Whitney, we are simply messed up but forgiven people. It is not our goal to impress with programs or knowledge, but to lean heavily on Jesus Christ and the hope and mercy only He can provide.
ABOUT US
Whitney is a multi-generational church full of people from all walks of life. Our desire is to create a comfortable setting for singles and families, young and old, to seek God together in a spirit of humility and honor. Our main focus is God and how we can align our lives with His purposes for us as He directs in the Bible. Our music, prayers, and messages point to the Gospel of Jesus as found in the Bible. We expect God to work through our weekly gatherings, bringing glory to Himself and inspiring our church family to practically live out our faith in Jesus.
beliefs
God’s written revelation to man are the Scriptures, the Bible. The Word of God is inerrant and complete, infallible and verbally inspired. It is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. The Trinity of God is His eternal tri-personal existence as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born of the virgin Mary, and by this birth, God became man, one perfect person, but two natures: one nature being that of Almighty God and the other being that of man. The union of the two natures became the God-Man Christ Jesus who was without sin.
We believe man was created in the image of God and that he sinned, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Jesus Christ died a vicarious death for our sins, according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice. His atonement for sin was and is for all mankind and all that believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. All who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the church, the bride of Christ.

Whitney began over 60 years ago as a church plant in the "suburbs." Whitney has grown as Boise has sprawled. The first services were held in a garage at our present location. Since then we have built, expanded and remodeled several times. Currently we are a growing body of over 200. We are a church of active faith committed to humbly serve and glorify God in all we do.
In our desire to reach people with the Gospel in the Treasure Valley we set out to not just build one big church but to plant many churches. We praise God for the opportunities we've had to partner locally in planting Meridian First Baptist, Lake Hazel Bible, Columbia Heights Baptist, and our most recent church plant in north Nampa, Involve Church. It has been a privilege for us to send many from our ranks into these church plants.
Our desire for outreach on a global scale is also a mainstream part of our following of Christ Jesus as a body of believers. We are blessed to partner with many missionaries on the field as well as the many that God has called from Whitney.
We believe one of our greatest resources is the story of how God has worked in many lives over many years. From the nursery to the grave, the story of how God has saved us and grown us needs to be passed on. We own this vision at Whitney, as many have stayed the course throughout their lifetime. Instead of hopping from one church to another, we see the blessings of generations worshiping, growing and loving one another, gathered together to humbly honor and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
