Our small groups are designed for encouragement, personal growth, and accountability. Jesus modeled this small group value through His ‘small group’ of disciples. Together they studied the Scriptures, prayed, shared daily life, and discussed how to live for God. At Whitney we believe that God designed us with the need to journey together, loving each other and becoming more like Christ. The value and intent of our small groups is to provide this much needed intimate and safe setting.
Our society continually bombards us with the question; “What are you going to do?” and here at Whitney we believe the first and most important question is; “Who are you going to be?” We believe that without first establishing character and integrity coupled with a solid spiritual base, it will be an uphill climb to glorify God in and thru ones life. We are encouraged in 2 Peter 1:5-9 to grow in faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness and love. Here at Whitney it is our desire to connect you with ones that will aid and strengthen you in the Lord. This comes as the very basics of discipleship to deeper studies in the Word as well as life on life mentoring. Some of the most powerful times of growth are experienced in one on one discipleship and mentoring. Why we have a Theology Program?
We utilize Credo House and their six-course systematic Theological studies program as a tool to build up and strengthen our body of believers. Our goal is that we each might more fully grow in Christ (Philippians 3:10) and worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Our desire for us as a body is to hold to an agreed core set of essential beliefs.

1 Peter 2:9 challenges the follower of Christ to “show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” It is the “showing” of Christ in the life of a believer that glorifies Him and marks the life of a devoted follower of Jesus.
At Whitney we see serving not as a task but as a key part of spiritual growth. It is in serving that we use our spiritual gifts, are stretched, and are given opportunities to turn our focus away from self and toward others. Our Savior’s life exampled ‘serving’ for us as He came to serve those in need. Serving at Whitney is one of the best ways to grow, connect and become part of the Whitney family. Serving moves us out to both speak and live out the gospel to our friends, neighbors, and world.
Serving is a strong heartbeat here at Whitney.

Giving and serving are essential parts of following Jesus and reflecting Him in our everyday lives. One of the on ramps to growing one's faith is to trust. In a tangible way 'giving' is trusting God in the area of finances. Many followers of Jesus struggle with trusting God in decisions like career, a spouse, and finances. Often, God uses these practical steps of faith to bring great growth and blessing resulting in joy and peace that truly glorifies the Lord. For passages on our principles of giving click HERE
